Check every sub's Florida license at once.
Paste your sub list, one sub per line: the license number, the business name, or both. Each line is checked against DBPR's construction licensee file, which PaperworkRunner loads every week. Free, and no sign-up.
Why it matters: under Florida law, the Construction Industry Licensing Board can discipline a licensed contractor who helps an unlicensed person or business perform work that requires a state license, if the contractor knew or had reasonable grounds to know they were unlicensed. Penalties can include a fine of up to $10,000 per violation, probation, and suspension or revocation of the contractor's license (Fla. Stat. § 489.129(1)(d)). Not legal advice; ask your attorney how it applies to you. Read the statute.
Then PaperworkRunner keeps checking
- Every week
- Each sub's license is checked again against the state's new file the day it loads. Florida DBPR
- When it drops
- If a license is no longer current and active, the sub shows as "Doesn't meet requirements" in your roster once that week's file loads, and you get an email.
- Someone else's license
- When a license number belongs to a different business than the sub, PaperworkRunner flags it.
- The record
- Every check is saved with its date and source, and goes into the audit file PDF.
Free plan: reminders for up to 5 subs a month and 10 reads a month. No card needed. It doesn't cover your whole roster.
What this check covers
- State contractor licenses (DBPR) only, not local licenses.
- Some trades, like painting, tile and flooring, don't need a state contractor license, so there's nothing to find for them here.
- A match by name alone may not be your sub. Confirm the license number with the sub.
- It shows what the state's file said on the day it loaded. A license can change after that.
